Shopping Places in Paris – From Vintage Finds to Designer Outlets
Paris isn’t just the city of fashion — it’s also a true shopper’s paradise, whether you’re looking for vintage treasures, books, designer pieces, or small souvenirs. Instead of just strolling down the classic luxury shopping streets, it’s worth exploring different neighborhoods. Many of the best shops are tucked away in small side streets or creative districts.
Here are some of my favorite shopping spots in Paris—a mix of personal recommendations and places that are definitely worth a visit.
Rue de la Verrerie – Vintage & Little Discoveries
Rue de la Verrerie is located in the Le Marais neighborhood and is perfect if you’re in the mood for vintage shopping. There are many secondhand shops lined up here, so with a little luck, you can find some real fashion treasures.
One cool spot there is Lucky Records. The store is a paradise for vinyl fans — though some records are a bit pricey. If you’re looking for a wider selection at better prices, it’s worth making a detour to the Fnac store in the Forum des Halles. It has a huge vinyl section.
Right next door and also super charming: La Petite Épicerie. Here you’ll find craft supplies, small souvenirs, and creative gifts — perfect if you want to take something special back from Paris.

Smith & Son – A Book Lover’s Paradise
If you love English-language books, you should definitely stop by Smith & Son. The chain offers a wide selection of English-language titles and a much more relaxed atmosphere than the very touristy classic, Shakespeare and Company.
Perfect for a quiet afternoon: buy a book, grab a coffee, and find a spot in a park to keep reading.

La Vallée Village – Designer Shopping at Discount Prices
If you’re in the mood for designer shopping but don’t want to pay full price, a trip to the La Vallée Village outlet is well worth it. The outlet is located about 40 minutes outside of Paris and features more than 100 boutiques from well-known brands, often at significantly reduced prices.
Here you’ll find brands such as:
- Gucci
- Prada
- Burberry
- Valentino
- Longchamp
- Sandro and Maje
Right next door is the huge Val d’Europe shopping center, in case you want to do even more shopping afterward.
Convenient: The outlet is just one train stop away from Disneyland Paris.

Bag-all – Personalized Travel Essentials
Bag-all is a super cute shop in the Marais. Here, you can have travel bags, cosmetic bags, or packing bags personalized. They make a particularly nice keepsake from your trip or a great gift.
Champs-Élysées – A Classic Destination for Major Brands
The famous Avenue des Champs-Élysées is, of course, a key part of the city’s shopping scene. Here you’ll find a mix of luxury labels and major international brands.
From high fashion to sportswear, there’s something for everyone, including stores like Louis Vuitton and Nike.
Even if you don’t plan to buy anything, it’s worth taking a stroll just to soak up the atmosphere.
Le Marais – The Best Neighborhood for Strolling
If you could only choose one neighborhood for shopping, it would probably be Le Marais. The narrow streets are lined with boutiques, concept stores, vintage shops, and design stores. You’ll find plenty of creative shops and fashion boutiques, especially around Rue des Francs-Bourgeois and Rue Vieille du Temple.
The best part: You can simply wander through the streets without a plan and constantly discover new shops.
BHV Marais – A Department Store with Everything
The large BHV Marais department store is located directly across from City Hall. Here you’ll find fashion, fashion accessories, home decor, and much more all in one place. If you want to compare several brands at once, this is a great place to start.
Galeries Lafayette – Shopping Under a Famous Dome
Another classic is the Galeries Lafayette department store. Even if you don’t plan to buy anything, you should pop in for a quick look—the building’s famous glass dome is stunning, and the rooftop terrace offers a fantastic view of Paris.

The Best Shopping Tip: Just Go With the Flow
Perhaps the best shopping tip in Paris is actually not to have a specific destination in mind. Especially in neighborhoods like Le Marais or Saint-Germain-des-Prés, you’ll constantly stumble upon small boutiques, vintage shops, and creative stores. Often, it’s precisely these spontaneous discoveries that make for the best souvenirs from a trip.
